Arts, Music, Theater Abound in Chatham Schools

Elementary, middle and high schools show off their musical talents.

The Chatham Music and Theater Boosters (CMTB) held their annual fundraising breakfast on Feb. 25, "Breakfast with the Musicians." Performing groups included all bands from grades 5 to 8, the 7th and 8th grade orchestra from , a combined chamber string ensemble comprised of Chatham Middle and players and the cast from "The Drowsy Chaperone. Directors prepared 15 to 20 minutes of music for each group to perform, and all performed to full audiences.

Joanie Abbott, Solana San Pietro and Sarah Thomson representated Chatham High as members of the New Jersey All-State Women's Chorus. The chorus was in final rehearsals in February and performed their concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center to a standing-room audience on Feb. 25.

's included a performance by the Chatham High Select Choir. After their performance, the choir was able to see a flash mob to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" by the faculty.
