'Bark Your Park' Could Bring Chatham $100K for Dog Park
Online voting competition has more than 300 towns nationwide vying for five different monetary prizes.

Chatham is considered a safe community and offers some of the best schools in the state.
But it’s missing one thing.
A dog park.

That’s why it has been nominated for PetSafe’s Bark For Your Park this year and is now in the running for $100,000 to put toward building a dog park in town.
Voting runs from May 13 to June 10, with finalists announced on June 17.

More than 300 communities were nominated in the first 24 hours, according petsafe.net.
The runner-up in each small, medium, and large population category will receive $25,000, the organization said. In addition, the Bark from Your Heart community winner will be the finalist with the highest percentage of votes to the city’s population, and will also win $25,000.
Finalists will be voted on from June 17 to July 22, with all winners announced on July 31.
