Boys Soccer Shuts Out Mountain Lakes

Boys football and cross country also celebrate a successful weekend.

How did your favorite sports teams perform over the weekend?

On Friday:

The boys cross country team won second place among large school divisions at the Greystone Invitational. The frosh team won first place.

After an hour delay from rain, the Cougars competed in the Greystone Invitational. They edged Morris Knolls by 1 point and Montville by 3 points.The first five runners were all between 11th and 16th places:

On Saturday:

  • The field hockey team defeated Jefferson 2-1 in Chatham in Morris County Tournament play. The Cougars now advance to the semifinals round.
  • In regular season, play the football team defeated Parsippany 23-0 in Chatham.

On Sunday:

  • The boys soccer team defeated Mountain Lakes 1-0 in double overtime in Chatham. The Cougars now advance to the semifinal round against Parsippany on Oct. 23.
  • The girls soccer team was defeated by Randolph 2-0 in Randolph.

The following games are scheduled for Monday:

  • JV boys football team travels to Parsippany for a 4 p.m. game. Transport leaves at 2:50 p.m.
  • Boys soccer travels to Parsippany for a 4 p.m. game. Transport leaves at 2:50 p.m.
  • Boys JV soccer travels to Parsippany for a 4 p.m. game. Transport leaves at 2:50 p.m.
  • Girls soccer hosts Parsippany High at (turf) at 4 p.m.
  • Girls JV soccer hosts Parsippany High at at 4 p.m.
  • Girls tennis travels to Mendham for a 4 p.m. game. Transport leaves at 2:50 p.m.
  • Girls JV tennis hosts Mendham at 4 p.m. at the tennis courts.
  • Girls JV volleyball hosts Hackettstown High at 4 p.m. at the Chatham High gym.
  • Girls volleyball hosts Hackettstown at 5:30 p.m. at the Chatham High gym.

The boys and girls swim teams will hold an organizational meeting on Nov. 19 at 2:45 p.m. in the Chatham High cafeteria. All those interested in swimming for the 2011-12 season should attend.

Coach Steele will also hold a meeting for parents of swim team members on Nov. 1 at 7:15 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Parents of all swimmers are asked to attend.
