A Positive Attitude and a Smile Can Go a Long Way

A positive attitude and a smile can really make a difference in your life and your ability to succeed.

Did you know that smiling can actually make you happier?  And a positive attitude can lead you to success? Hard to believe but they are both true!  It can be difficult sometimes to feel positive and smile when there may be many negative influences around you. Stress can be a big factor in believing those negative thoughts.  Smiles and positive affirmations can lead to a better attitude, a successful life and less stress. Although the situations may not immediately change, if your attitude towards them does, you will notice the outcome does as well.

Our minds tend to always believe the bad things but we have trouble accepting the compliments or positive things about ourselves.  That needs to change.  A great way to start is by smiling.  You may not feel like putting on a smile, but
it will actually improve your mood and those around you.  Smiling can lift your spirits and increase your happiness.  Even if it doesn’t feel like it initially, those around you will see you smiling and most likely respond with a smile back. Think about how nice it is when you go into a store or see someone walking past you and they smile.  You are much more receptive to them and feel they are friendly. Sometimes that is all you need to brighten your day.  We can be a very judgmental society and instead of being kind to one another, we are very quick to judge and criticize.  A kind word, a smile, a small gesture of opening a door or telling someone they look good today will make someone feel great and you will get the reward of knowing that was because of something you did.  

Surrounding yourself with optimistic and happy images and people will increase your positive thoughts and allow your confidence to rise.  Reminding yourself of your strengths andthings you like about yourself on a daily basis increases your self-esteem and puts you on a path of achievement and success. If you believe you can do things, so will others around you. It also reduces your stress and increases your overall health and wellness.  If you practice being optimistic and really work on changing your attitude and views, the more likely when a difficult situation arises you will handle it in an effective way and your stress levels will remain lower.  The more you work on the positive attitude, the more second nature itwill become.  Others around you will also find it contagious and want to spend time with you. Your smile and your attitude will change your environment and those you come in contact with. This can increase your friendships, business relationships or customers.  So smile, it is good for you!
