Girls Can Wrestle Successfully, Too

The sport has become increasingly popular for girls.

Girls can wrestle? Yes, thats right. They can and do with much success. Women wrestling has become one of the fastest growing sports in the United States and colleges are recruiting more and more women to wrestle. With crimes against women soaring, it's no wonder that girls are turning to wrestling which is a great form of self defense and conditioning. Nationwide, approximately, 7,500 high school girls wrestled last year and that number has increased dramatically this year. This is more than five times as many as a decade earlier. Now that women wrestling is an Olympic sport and a college sport, girls wrestling is poised to take off. The Chatham Wrestling Club is open to boys and girls pre-k to 12th grade.
