I learned many moons ago at a Leadership training session my employer RR Donnelley hosted that "gratitude" is the most optimal state that someone can be in. In order to be truly happy and content to the utmost potential, one must exist in a state of gratitude.
I try to practice this everyday (it's easy for me having three healthy kids that I love more than life itself), but I am overwhelmed more than normal by this today. Campaigning is not for the weak of heart!
I'm sure my new friend Kevin Sullivan would agree! Yet going door to door, neighborhood to neighborhood, I am awestruck by the amount of Chatham neighbors that opened their doors and their homes to me.

Yes, I got my share of door slams coupled with "I'm voting for the other guy ..." but so many more times than those, I was greeted with open minds, friendly conversations and even more than a few hugs and kisses. I am so grateful to God for living here in Chatham.
The life it has given me filled with loving and wonderful friends, amazing schools and a supportive community is overwhelming. No matter what happens tomorrow, I wanted to say to as many people as I could–THANK YOU! Thank you to my existing friends, my neighbors, my families and all of my new friends who I'm so excited to stay in touch with!

Gratitude–it's the best state you can possible be in! And I'm there, right now.
