Indigo Tumblers Qualify for Regional Competition

Local resident, Sarah Viola, recently qualified for the Regional Championships in tumbling with her teammates from Indigo Gymnastics

On April 14th, 2013 the Indigo Tumbling and Trampoline Team competed at their very first state meet at Motion Gymnastics in Pennington NJ.

All of the girls successfully qualified for the Regional Competition:

  • Samara Grannum age 10, L-5, 1st place
  • Natalie Aguiar  age 8, L-6, 2nd place
  • Taylor Hardy age 11, L-6, 1st place
  • Amanda Kumor age 12, L-6, 1st place
  • Leah Filimonczuk age 9, L-7, 1st place
  • Sarah Viola age 14, L-7, 1st place

Sarah is a resident of Chatham Borough and currently in the 8th grade at Chatham Middle School.

Team Indigo previously competed at two other meets at Motion Gymnastics as well as in Maryland at Preston Gymnastics. The team’s next stop will be in Martinsburg, West Virginia at Flip Over Gymnastics for their first regional competition.  The team is coached by Roger Walker, 1996 World Champion of Tumbling.  Good Luck to team Indigo at Regionals!
