On Feb. 23, nine wrestlers from the Chatham Youth Wrestling Club participated in the North Jersey Youth Wrestling League's season ending tournament.
The result: four gold and two silver medals. Cyrus Khani, Jacob Mahon, Drew Mitzak and Gavin Glasgow defeated all of their opponents to take first place at this event.
Cyrus Khani (85) started the day with a 10-0 victory over his opponent from Sparta, pinned his rival from Wallkill Valley in the second period, prevailed 17-12 over a wrestler from Mendham , pinned his next opponent from West Milford and then earned a forfeit from Jefferson to take home a gold medal.

Jacob Mahon (83) also took home a gold medal after beating his first opponent from Sparta 13-4 and then pinning his next two opponents from Boonton and then Wharton.
Gavin Glasgow (102) pinned his first opponent from Mendham, beat his next opponent from Sussex 2-0 and then pinned his third opponent from Parsippany to take home a gold medal. Drew Mitzak had three pins in his quest for the gold.

Drew pinned his first opponent from Roxbury, obtained a forfeit and then pinned his next two opponents from Vernon and then Sussex Wantage. Willie ONeill (75) went 3-1 to take home a silver medal. Willie pinned his opponent from Montville in the first period, pinned a wrestler from Boonton in the second period, unfortunately lost to a wrestler from Jefferson but bounced back to pin his last opponent from Branchville. Jared Cohn went 2-2 which included a pin over his opponent from Wharton and a 15-0 victory over his rival from Butler to finish the day in third place.
Owen McClintock (60) also came in third with a 1-2 record at this event. Dean Ciccarelli (87) took fourth place which included one pin. Graham Abramo (65), a true novice, wrestled well at this event against three experienced wrestlers to finish the day in fourth place.
