Wrestling Suffers Defeat Despite Strong Performances

The wrestling team suffered three losses today in a quad meet with Union, North Plainfield and Columbia high schools. With two key wrestlers out of the lineup today, the Chatham team was competitive, but just did not have enough experience across all weight classes to notch a victory. 

Chatham saved its best wrestling for its toughest and final match against Union.  The Union match was closely contested and not decided until the final two bouts at 138 and 145 pounds. If the Chatham squad wrestled as tough as they did against Union, the outcome of the day would have been different.

Throughout the three matches today, there were several individual standout performances with some wrestlers scoring multiple pins on the day. In addition, the JV team did exceptionally well, winning eight of 11 matches, six of the eight wins were by pin.
