The scouts have opportunities to acquire skills for outdoor adventure and make them more self-reliant. They explore outdoor activities such as hiking trails and camping, but also service projects as part of good citizenship. Scouts develop attributes of good character, youth leadership and learning to cooperate as team members to meet outdoor challenges that may include extreme weather, steep trails and nature’s unexpected circumstances. Scouts plan and carry out activities with thoughtful guidance, leadership and communication skills to achieve goals set by their Senior Patrol leaders, and other positions of youth leadership. At the beginning of this scouting year, Jonathan Field was elected by his scouting peers as Senior Patrol leader. He is assisted by other positions of leadership to plan and execute activities for the Troop.
