Chatham Boys' Tennis Wins Every Singles Game in Rout of Pequannock
Patrick Monaghan, Quentin Monaghan and Matt Romei dominated their opponents.
The Golden Panthers have been demoted to silver.
On Tuesday, Chatham crushed Pequannock Township 4-1 on the tennis court and did so in stunning fashion.
"We had a good day, we played well today," said Chatham head coach Bruce Humphreys. "I expected that we'd do well."

The singles matches weren't even close. Patrick Monaghan and his brother Quentin both dispatched of their opponents, Kevin Gilmartin and Chris Grecco, respectively, 6-0, 6-0.
"They're 11-1 and we're 2-3—what do you think I expected?" said Golden Panthers head coach Russ Irving. "They're one of the premier teams, so we just tried to hold our own ... but at singles they're just outstanding."

The third singles starter, Matt Romei, followed suit and routed his nemesis, Brian O'Hara, 6-0, 6-0.
"I just wanted to come out and stay consistent," Romei said.
The Cougars' second doubles team of Chad Gildersleeve and Alec Weber fell to Cosmo Laterza and Greg Freideman, 6-1, 6-2, for the team's lone loss on the day.
"They played well, they got outplayed," Humphreys said.
Winning is nothing new for the Cougars, who improved their record to 12-1 on the season. The team is coming off a victory in the Bryan Bennett Tennis Tournament—a 14-team tourney—at the Delbarton school in Morristown. However, regular-season victories don't mean quite as much, as the team has its sights set on a triumph at the state tournament.
"There are a lot of tough teams, but if we play like we're capable of playing, we can win it," Romei said.
