Chatham Community Banding Together to Raise Funds for Ill Neighbor

Saturday benefit to support woman's cancer battle.

When one runs into health issues, they all jump in to help.

That’s what the Chatham community is doing now to help the Johnson family, as Kristin Johnson battles Stage IV lung cancer. Johnson is on her third round of chemotherapy, but doctors have given her a positive prognosis.

And now the town is jumping in to help.

The Chatham High School Marching Band, along with Saint Patrick Church Youth Ministry are co-sponsoring a BBQ fundraiser Saturday at Cougar Field from 4:30 to 7 p.m. to benefit Johnson’s battle.

The band will perform their current season’s halftime show, and games and activities will be available for kids.
