Wow! Chatham's U12 team beat long odds to take The Elite from Illinois out of the Tournament in a gutty 4-3 win. After a slow start and down 3-0 going into the 5th inning, Chatham scored 4 lead off by spark plug Colin Pierce. Elijah Schwinghammer then reached first on an error and Brian Cook stayed hot with a single to centerfield. Pickles Maguire then singled to right field scoring Schwinghammer and advancing the runners. Several errors later, the score stood at 4-3. Matt Connolly aka The Cannoli took the hill for the final 2 innings retiring 6 in a row on suburb defensive play out of shortstop Ben Gorski. Next up at 3:30pm MP Express who beat us 9-0 earlier in the week but scouting reports have come back showing vulnerabilities that we will look to exploit. Thanks for the good wishes Chatham!
