Chatham Emergency Squad Needs Support: See How You Can Help
More than 90 percent of their funding comes from donations, and the annual fund drive is on.
CHATHAM, NJ - More than 80 members responded to more than 1,200 calls utilizing three ambulances in 2018 and in order to keep up with serving the community the Chatham Emergency Squad needs help with another number: their bottom line.
The squad has launched their 2019 funding drive and according to officials more than 90 percent of their funding comes through donations.
Chatham Emergency Squad isa 100 percent all-volunteer agency servicing the Chathams and neighboring communities through mutual aid assistance. They are comprised of 81 active volunteers ranging in age from high school students to working professionals to retirees, each with the common goal of helping neighbors during their time of need.

For over 83 years, the Chatham Emergency Squad has never charged for its services, thanks to the support of Chatham citizens, businesses and community organizations.
In a letter sent out to residents announcing the fundraising push, President Evan Skinner and Captain Steve Davenport noted the squad’s Emergency Medical Technicians go through extensive training that exceeds the requirements by the State of New Jersey.

Trainings and equipment, cost money and that is where the public comes in.
Officials noted that there are many ways to support the squad, but donating through their Facebook page saves them fees. Those interested can also donate directly through their website.
