Chatham High Sees Cohen Off with Triple Victories
Basketball and hockey teams won on Harvey Cohen's last weekday as athletic director.

On Friday:
- The in the Cougar Classic.
- The boys basketball team defeated New Providence 46-44 in the Cougar Classic.
- The boys ice hockey team defeated Pequannock 4-2 at Skylands Ice World. Colby Gilsenan scored in the second period, assisted by Trip Burke. Geoff Gill broke an even 1-1 tie in the third period, assisted by Burke, who then went on to score with assists by Scott Kepler and Rob Graziano. Teddy Simson scored the fourth goal, assisted by Graziano. Goalie Jordan Boles had 16 saves on the game.
- The girls winter track team competed at the Pietrewicz Polar Bear Invitational at Drew University. Tara Hanley placed third in the 1600m with a time of 5:17.8, and second place in the 1000m with a time of 3:10.18. Julie Williamson finished in fifth place in the 1000m race with a time of 3:15.3
- The boys winter track team also competed in the Polar Bear Invitational. Anthony Malatesta finished first place in the 1600m race with a time of 4:37. On the JV team, Josh Blake and Andrew Vena came in second and fourth, respectively, in the 600m race with respective times of 1:35 and 1:37.

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing lacrosse on Jan. 4 at 2:45 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. All those interested in playing in 2012 should attend. Pre-season workouts, preliminary schedules and spirit wear order forms will be distributed. If unable to attend, please contact Head Coach Deb Marriott.
The Booster Club next meets on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Chatham High Media Center.
