Chatham Historical Society Scholarship is awarded to Teresa Frenzel

This year's recipient of the Chatham Historical Society Margaret Keisler Scholarship is Teresa Frenzel who will be attending Amherst College in the fall.
The scholarship is in memory of Margaret Keisler, town historian and lifelong Chathamite.  Seniors are asked to write about a personal memory that exemplifies "our town by a river", Chatham. 
Teresa's essay was about hurricane Sandy and how her neighborhood came together to help each other.  This timely and evocative essay will become part of the Historical Society's archives so future generations can read about this extraordinary event. 
Susan Allen, President of the Historical Society commented, "I loved reading the perspective of a young person and her awareness of the community and it's coming together and what a great example her mother was to her. Great essay!"
