Chatham Junior Varsity Baseball Field Dedicated
Teams follow dedication with victories over Dover.
The Chatham High School junior varsity and varsity baseball teams held a dedication at the school's new JV baseball field on Friday. The renovations required to convert the former softball field were funded by equal contributions from the Chatham Baseball Committee, the Chatham Baseball Club, the Chatham Athletic Booster Club and the Chatham Athletic Foundation.
The dedication was hosted by varsity baseball Head Coach Doug Chambers. Chambers thanked the organizations for their support. He also thanked Bill Weichert of Chatham Main Contractors for his generosity in performing this work at his cost, and thanked school district Buildings and Grounds Supervisor John Cataldo and his staff for their hard work in seeing the project through to its completion.
A bronze plaque will be installed at the field commemorating the dedication and thanking those involved.

Chambers indicated "it has been a true cooperative effort between the groups that will utilize the field and the groups that support athletic programs in Chatham. The community should be thankful that these groups continue to work in support of one another."
With the opening of the new field, the baseball program now enjoys two fields located side-by-side behind the high school.
