Chatham Moms for Change is proud to endorse Mary Dougherty, Rupande Mehta and Richard Corcoran for Morris County Freeholders.

CHATHAM, NJ – Chatham Moms for Change is proud to endorse Mary Dougherty, Rupande Mehta and Richard Corcoran for Morris County Freeholders. They are also known as “Team Morris” on the campaign trail.
Many Morris County residents are not familiar with the role of a Freeholder and the particular duties that the job entails. The term “Freeholder” dates back to the 18th century and would more commonly be called “commissioner” in other areas around the country.
As a group, they’re responsible for overseeing a budget of over $300 million dollars, and the decisions they make affect tax dollars, services, and the quality of your day-to-day life here in Morris County. 287-miles of county roads, over 18,000 acres of parks, the Morris County School of Technology, The County College of Morris, the Morris County Correctional Facility and a wide-range of social services that all fall under the Board of Chosen Freeholders.

With backgrounds in finance, accounting and real estate, Team Morris brings a strong skill set to the Freeholder Board. Living in Denville, Morristown and Boonton, the candidates are also familiar with different areas of Morris County and their particular needs.
Dougherty is a long time resident of Morristown and a real estate agent with previous experience in designing policy and services for medium to large sized organizations. As a co-founder of the Morristown Women in Business Networking Committee and a board member for Morris County School of technology, Dougherty has a proven track record of getting results for Morris County residents.

Born in India, Mehta came to the US in 2002 after earning a degree in Accounting from the University of Mumbai. She also has an MBA in Economics and Finance from Clarion in PA and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Rutgers. Post graduation, she has worked for over 10 years as a competitive intelligence professional. With her background, we feel that she has the skill set to bring to the Board of Freeholders that isn’t currently in place. She became a naturalized citizen in 2017.
Corcoran, a Boonton resident, graduate of Monmouth University and a CPA, has the depth and breadth of experience that is required to be a Freeholder. In his current role as a senior manager in the Litigation and Forensic Department at the accounting firm of O’Connor Davies, LP, Corcoran is familiar with the skills involved to successfully manage a budget of $300 million with dozens of projects underway at the same time.
Chatham Moms for Change believes that Mary Dougherty, Rupande Mehta and Richard Corcoran will best represent all their constituents in Morris County based on their experiences and professional roles. They will bring transparency, clarity and honesty to the Freeholder office. They will also be interested in hearing directly from their constituents and will continue to work hard to represent ALL residents of Morris County.

Chatham Moms for Change is a grassroots organization that was founded in October of 2016 and has now grown to over 800 members. We have built a community of support that allows our members to have a voice representing them at all levels of government and community involvement. Our members inspire and empower each other to spearhead community service projects, celebrate the diversity of our community, run for office, campaign for candidates and stand up when we see injustice.
