Chatham Presbyterian Church Invites Community to March 21 Fundraiser

The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township (PCCT) announced that it will host an evening of heartwarming comedy, delicious food, and good conversation on Friday, March 21, from 7-10 p.m. at Chatham Fish and Game Club, 41 Fairmount Ave., in Chatham Borough.

The event will feature Chip Leighton, author of the New York Times Bestseller “What Time is Noon,” and creator of The Leighton Show on social media, with 1.5 million followers. His viral comedic videos focus on humorous relationship and parenting moments, such as “things I’ve apologized to my wife for” and “texts from our college freshman.”

Ticket price is $125 per person in advance, with a limited number of tickets at $140 each available at the door. Food from Valducci’s Pizza (named “best pizza” five times by the New York Post), wine and beer will be provided. All those age 21 and over are invited.

Leighton’s book will be available for sale in advance or at the event for $16, and can be signed at the event.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the church’s capital campaign, which is focused on updating its infrastructure, including roofing, HVAC systems and other improvements.

“PCCT is a house of welcome for the community as well as a house of worship for our church family,” said The Rev. Thomas A. Brown, Pastor. “Each year we host more than 40,000 visits by members, community groups and neighbors. Through these essential capital improvements, our facility will continue to be inviting, safe and secure for years to come.”

Rev. Brown noted that PCCT is home to the Stanley Nursery School, and for more than four decades, Boy Scout Troop 121 and Cub Scout Pack 24 have met there. Lyrica Concerts take place in the church’s acoustically pleasing sanctuary, and the Helping Hands organization uses space in the church building to collect and distribute clothing, food and supplies for neighbors in need. In addition, over its more than 60-year history, the church has provided space and support for a wide range of groups and service initiatives, including senior nutrition programs, temporary lodging for out-of-state volunteers who helped in the state’s recovery from Superstorm Sandy, and accommodations and meals for guests served by Homeless Solutions.
