Chatham Scores Impressive 5-2 Win Over Ramsey
Rauter records two goals and an assist, Cougars advance to semifinals.
A capacity crowd was on hand at the Ice Vault in Wayne for the NJSIAA Public B quarterfinals for the Cougars' win over Ramsey, 5-2.
Chatham was first on the scoreboard with a goal from Danny Casey at 4:29 in the first period, and Casey assisted on three other goals. Alex Rauter was the top scorer of the evening with two goals and one assist. Billy Pellegrino and Jake Herendeen scored the remaining Chatham goals, assisted by Rauter and Jake Pyhel, respectively.
Chatham took control and maintained their lead adding three goals to one from Ramsey in the second period. Each team scored again in the third period.

Top seeded Chatham improves to 19-3-3. Ramsey's season ends at 19-6-2.
The Cougars will face No. 4 seed Mahwah in the semifinals Wednesday night at Codey Arena at South Mountain in West Orange.
