“Being a teenager today is tough. We have pressure coming at us from all directions and it can be hard, but it’s important to understand that suicide is never the answer," said Mollie Ritter, President of CTFMH. “We hope that through this community forum, teenagers, their parents, and others will gain a better understanding of the risks and warning signs of suicide and learn what they can do to prevent it.”

“In New Jersey, suicide is the third-leading cause of death among youth between 10 and 24. The more we come together as a community to talk about mental health the sooner we can remove the stigma associated with it,” Jane Middleton, Second Vice President of CTFMH, said.

CTFMH has also announced its support for the seventh annual Morris County Suicide Prevention Walk, which will take place on September 17 at Cougar Field in Chatham Township. To learn more about the "Welcome to the Out of the Darkness: Morris County Walk" click here.
