Chatham Township Could Drop Municipal Taxes
The hearing and vote on the proposed 2019 budget is scheduled for Thursday.
CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Township taxpayers will see a decrease in municipal taxes for 2019 if the budget scheduled to be voted on at Thursday's Township Committee meeting is passed.
According to the presentation by Township Administrator Robert Hoffman, average home, assessed at $805,000 will pay $2,198, down from last year's $2,222, a difference of $24.
Overall, there is a decrease in the 2019 budget. Last year, the total budget for Chatham Township was $16,181,125. The 2019 budget is projected at $15,953,780. This difference represents a 1.28 percent decrease, according to the presentation.
