Chatham Township To Drop Municipal Taxes $24
The hearing and vote on the proposed 2019 budget is scheduled for April 25.
CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Township taxpayers will see a decrease in municipal taxes for 2019 if the budget presented at Thursday's Township Committee meeting is passed.
According to the presentation by newly-minted Township Administrator Robert Hoffman, average home, assessed at $805,000 will pay $2,198, down from last year's $2,222, a difference of $24.
Overall, there is a decrease in the 2019 budget. Last year, the total budget for Chatham Township was $16,181,125. The 2019 budget is projected at $15,953,780. This difference represents a 1.28 percent decrease, according to the presentation.
