Chatham Wants To Help Shred Your Secrets

Semi-annual paper shredding event will benefit the Senior Center.

CHATHAM, NJ - Spring is the perfect time to de-clutter and safely dispose of unwanted paper and documents, such as tax and medical records, old bills, and financial statements at the Community Shred fundraiser.

The program is set for Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon at Lafayette School in Chatham and is sponsored by Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center, Aquinas Healthcare, and
Hickory Tree Delicatessen.

“Privacy and identity theft are growing concerns these days, and much identity theft is
obtained through hard copy sources. Paper shredding and document destruction can
help to reduce that risk in an environmentally-friendly way,” said Executive
Director of the Senior Center of the Chathams Julie Reich.

The suggested minimum donation is $5 per brown paper grocery bag and $10 per small/medium
cardboard box. Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed. The paper shred is open to the public and will take place rain or shine at Lafayette School, 221 Lafayette Avenue.

Reich said thanks to the generous sponsorship of this event by Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center, Aquinas Healthcare, and Hickory Tree Delicatessen, all proceeds will support the programs and services of the Senior Center of the Chathams.
