Chatham White 11U Stuns Bridgewater 7-1

In an early season meeting Bridgewater thumped the Chatham White 11U Summer travel baseball team, putting up 11 runs in the first three innings. But in a testament to the progress the boys have made over the course of the summer the newly formed travel team made sure there would be no repeat performance. Thomas Wolf set the tone early pitching three shutout innings and Kyle Holmes allowed only one unearned run the rest of the way as Chatham downed the visitors 7-1 in New Providence Green League Play. Wolf led the offense for Chatham going 2 for 3, the big hit being a stand up triple over the centerfielder's head. Matthew Patterson, Tristan O'Brien and Liam "Hollywood" Holland added big hits for the home team while Patterson and Sam "Salty" Alterman scored twice. Michael Vintzel and Max Schaefer shut down the left side of the infield and Sam Dempsey gunned down a runner who made the mistake of testing his arm. Chatham White travels to Watchung Wednesday night in NPGL play.
