Choi Replaces Fondaco On Democratic Ticket In Chatham Election
Mike Choi has been chosen to replace Celeste Fondaco on the Township Committee for a three-year term in November.

CHATHAM, NJ — Mike Choi has been chosen to run in place of Celeste Fondaco for a three-year term on the Township Committee in November, according to the Chatham Township Democratic Committee.
Choi is a member of the Chatham Township Planning Board and has lived in the township for over ten years. Fondaco, who is in her third year on the Chatham Township Committee, has decided not to run for reelection, officials said.
"I’m honored to run for a seat on the Chatham Township Committee. Since arriving
in the Township over 10 years ago, my family and I have involved ourselves in a range of civic and
community activities including my current role on the Chatham Township Planning Board," Choi said.

"With Mike’s candidacy, we continue to support candidates that focus on solving local issues first," said Phil Ankel, Chatham Township Democratic Chair. "Mike brings deep subject matter expertise in municipal government and finance which are key to ensuring the Township’s long-term fiscal, educational and community strength."
Choi joins committee member Stacey Ewald, who is running for a three-year term on the Democratic ticket. In the Nov. 8 election to fill two seats on the committee, they will be opposed by the Republican ticket of Dawn Flynn and Ron Rubino.

"It has been an honor to serve on the Township Committee with Celeste Fondaco. She has a lifetime of experiences working for the benefit of the Township and she has a wealth of knowledge about Township history. I will miss having her as a running mate and fellow Committeewoman but she’s leaving us in good hands with Mike Choi," Committeewoman Ewald said.
Fondaco has previously served as a liaison to the Environmental Commission and the Open Space Advisory Committee, and she plans to continue working with the Emergency Squad, the local art community, the Historical Society and the Environmental Committee.
"My kids attend Chatham’s outstanding schools and participate in a range of sports and community activities. Simply put, this is a wonderful town and I plan to stay here for years to come. It's only fitting that I should do my part in maintaining and growing our community," Choi said.
