College Night at Chatham Boosters' Fundraiser

The boosters held their annual gala Friday night at the Chatham Fish and Game Club.

T-shirts hung from a display rod at the Chatham High School Athletic Boosters Club's annual fundraiser on Friday night at Chatham Fish and Game, each adorned with the name of a different college or university.

The boosters wanted to highlight the schools Chatham student athletes have gone on to after they graduated from Chatham High, and hung the shirts in an effort to do that. They were auctioned off at the event, as were many other prizes—gift baskets, paintings, sports tickets and a leafblower were all up for grabs during the event's silent auction.

Boosters President Jeff Dunne talked about how this is the club's only fundraiser throughout the year. He estimated it brings in about $20,000.

"The unique thing about the boosters is it's not solely for football, solely for baseball, softball or lacrosse," he said at the event. "We support every sports program in the high school."

The boosters fund various projects, such as lights for fields and scoreboards for gyms. The club consistenly works on projects throughout the year, and hosts a basketball tournament in the winter.
