Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill attended a fundraiser in Chatham Borough in early October in support of the local and state assembly Democratic candidates. The brunch event was hosted in the home of Dr. Roubi Stavropoulos and Dr. Jim Kanellakos.

When it came time for the Congresswoman to speak, she kept her remarks focused on the candidates, commenting on the great strength of this slate running for election on November 5th.She noted how each candidate was well qualified and dedicated to getting things done for Chatham.

This year in the Borough, the Democratic slate includes Mayoral candidate Thad Kobylarz and Council candidates Irene Treloar and Karen Koronkiewicz. The Democratic candidates for State Assembly LD21 are Stacey Gunderman and Lisa Mandelblatt.

The candidates and the enthusiastic crowd, composed primarily of Chatham Borough residents, were honored to welcome Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill. “We are so fortunate that there are so many people who have been tirelessly supporting us with volunteer hours and donations since the campaign kicked off in April,” said Karen Koronkiewicz. Irene Treloar added, “We’re thrilled that Congresswoman Sherrill has come to Chatham to support our entire slate. She really understands the issues at hand in our town including the issues with NJ Transit, the loss of our SALT deductions, and the high cost of living in New Jersey.”

“Having Congresswoman Sherrill supporting our campaigns really helps as we head into the final two weeks of campaign season,” says Thad Kobylarz. “It’s a great morale boost and a reminder of why we’re all doing this - to make our corner of NJ better and stronger for everyone who calls it home.”
