Curbside Libraries Could Be Coming To Chatham
A local Boy Scout wants to build three mini-libraries for his Eagle Scout project.
CHATHAM, NJ — Curbside lending libraries could be coming to Chatham, as a local Boy Scout seeks Borough approval to build them for his Eagle Scout project.
Peter Duffy of Scout Troop #8 wants to install three of he lending libraries throughout the town: the commuter oasis, Memorial Park, and Shepard Kollock Park. Because all three are on Borough property, the Council will vote on a resolution to approve them this Monday.
Duffy's project is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of the Chathams.

"The Mayor and Borough Council commend Peter Duffy and the Rotary Club of the Chathams for proposing the Eagle Scout service project that will benefit the Chatham Borough community," the resolution reads.
Lending libraries are small curbside boxes where residents can borrow books to read, and leave books for others, all on the honor system. The most popular of these lending libraries is the Little Free Library.
