Cycle for a Cause on Sunday, March 12, to Support LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Cycle for a Cause! The Madison Area YMCA will hold a 4-hour spinathon to benefit LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a cancer survivor’s program, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an international childhood cancer charity, on Sunday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Y’s Family Center.

All proceeds donated to the event will be split 50/50 to help support St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund cancer research and the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund to fund LIVESTRONG at the YMCA.

Participants may register at the Madison Area YMCA Welcome Center. The donation to participate is $25 per hour. Cyclists are encouraged to collect pledges. Pledge forms are available at the Family Center’s Welcome Center and Fitness Center or at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center.

Cycling instructor schedule: Madison Area YMCA Senior Director of Healthy Living Joe Gonsalves will teach 8 a.m.- 9 a.m.; Cycling instructor Ashlee Hodge will teach 9 a.m.-10 a.m.; Cycling instructor Carey Ahsler will teach 10 a.m.-11 a.m. and Professional Physical Therapy, LLC physical therapist and cycling instructor Karen Tom will teach 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives.

The Y’s Annual Campaign is one of the ways that allows the Y to provide assistance to anyone who resides or works in Madison, Chatham and Florham Park. Support is provided based on demonstrated need, with the goal that no one be turned away from membership regardless of income or background.

As a cause-driven 501c3 charitable organization, the Y is dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving our community’s health and well-being and giving back by providing support to our neighbors.
