Eastbound Building of Chatham Train Station Might House New Restaurant

New Jersey Transit will vote Thursday whether to lease the space to Fishawack 4, LLC.

CHATHAM, NJ — New Jersey Transit will conduct a vote Thursday to either approve or disapprove of a long-term lease deal that would open a restaurant in the eastbound building of the Chatham Train Station, according to Tapinto. If approved, the Bistro-style restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Fishawack 4, LLC is the company that NJ Transit would lease the station to. The lease would last for 20 years.

NJ Transit described the restaurant in its meeting agenda, according to Tapinto:

"The restaurant will be of contemporary design and echo the historical elements of the station while offering a rousing 21st Century-style Bistro with distinct menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. By entering into a lease for the Chatham railroad station to operate as a restaurant will provide non-farebox revenue to NJ TRANSIT and serve as a commuter passenger amenity to our passengers."
