The Public Arts Council (PAC) of Chatham Borough has arranged for Chatham to receive two new sculptures from world-renowned artists from the Sculpture Foundation. We are very thankful to our donors, HSBC Bank and Westy's Storage Centers, who have made this acquisition possible. The sculptures will arrive May 25th.
One sculpture, The Search by Seaward Johnson, will be placed in Memorial Field behind the library. The other, Crescent by Richard Jolley, will be placed on the grassy strip in the train station parking lot, which we have named the "Commuter's Oasis". The "Commuter's Oasis" will be a new, usable space where individuals could relax and picnic. There is a particular need to create a usable space in this location: farmer's market clientele will be able to picnic and train commuters will be able to wait in a pleasant space.
We would like to landscape and develop the area before the arrival of the Jolley sculpture. The PAC is very thankful toSIMONFAY landscaping, who will be generously donating their time and resources to help us design/landscape the site, but we still need your help. Much preparation work is needed.

Specifically, we need to dig out the site and put in a walkway base in preparation to install pavers. SIMONFAY will have a foreman onsite and will guide us how to do these tasks. We plan to spend a full day at the site and would gladly accept as much time as you would be willing to give.
DATE: Saturday, May 8th. Rain date: May 15th.
