Video Travel to Alaska

AREA -- Mike Dutko of Spring Lake will host a video travelogue featuring Alaska on Tuesday, June 15, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at The Library of The Chathams, 214 Main Street, Chatham. The program begins with a cruise through Alaska's Inside Passage which stops in Ketchikan to see Coastal Indians carve totem poles.  Next is Sitka with its Russian influence, and then on to Juneau, the capital, and to the picturesque towns of Haines, Wrangell, and Petersburg.  The Yukon and White Pass Railroad goes to the gold rush town of Skagway.  The tour continues on to view Mendenhall Glacier, abundant wildlife, and soaring mountains capped with snow.  After a short break, the travelers view Alaska's State Parks:  Kenai Fjords, Denali, Glacier Bay, Katmai, and Gates of the Arctic.  The final scene is an aerial view of Alaska's breathtaking landscape.  All are welcome to attend this free show.  For further information, please call 973-635-0603 or visit chatham-library.org.
