Heidaran Racks Up 149 Yards, But Chatham Falls
Unbeaten Lenape Valley takes advance of turnovers, hands Cougars second straight loss.
The Chatham High School football team came into the game determined to make a better showing than in , but despite strong performances from Sam Failla, Cory Heidaran, Dylan Adams and Colin Brown, the Cougars came up short against Lenape Valley.
The unbeaten Patriots improved to 5-0 on the season with a 28-17 victory Friday afternoon at Cougar Field. After winning their first three games of the season, the Cougars fell to 3-2.

IN SHORT
After stopping Lenape Valley on the 2-yard line in their first possession of the game, the Cougars looked like a real match for the Patriots. Two Cougar fumbles and Patriot scores followed, and Lenape Valley kept the edge in a back-and-forth struggle.
Heidaran got yardage when it counted, and Failla connected with Adams on a 58-yard touchdown pass and a 15 yard TD pass to Brown to keep the Cougar momentum alive. Dave Fiumara connected on a field goal in the first quarter.

Lenape Valley's strong offense under QB Robert Pregno and running back Nicholas Rafferty accounted for two TDs each.

Receptions: Dylan Adams pulled down a pass from Sam Failla for a 58-yard TD in the second quarter. Colin Brown scored on a 15-yard pass from Failla in the fourth. Adams added a two-point conversion on a pass from Failla.

QB Robert Pregno: Scored on runs of 1 and 19 yards; RB Nicholas Rafferty added scores from runs of 1 and 5 yards.

"I think they got lucky on our two fumbles they scored on. They got the ball inside the 20-yard line and that made it easier. Coming off last week's game, we worked on getting everything down on offense, new plays, and on defense to stop the run better. We have to keep on moving forward."–Cory Heidaran
