JULY 2017 EVENTS

AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE – Monday, July 10, both 9am – 3:30pm. Defensive driving program geared for the “over 50” population. Offers help with age-related changes and can earn you certification for insurance discount. Will be completed in one full-day session with breaks. Bring lunch. $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members. Checks only - must be paid at time of sign up. Class size limited. Call Center at 973.635.4565 to reserve. PROGRAM: “HITCHCOCK BLONDES” – Monday, July 17, 12:30pm. Stephen Whitty, film critic for the Star-Ledger and the New York Daily News, and author of “The Alfred Hitchcock Encyclopedia,” will give a talk on one of the great director’s most lasting obsessions. What was it that he saw in actresses as dissimilar as Joan Fontaine, Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly? What did he bring out of them and what did they bring to his films? Behind-the-scenes stories and clips from Hitchcock’s greatest works will fill out this talk, followed by Q and A session. Refreshments after program. Sign-up is requested. BUS TRIP TO NJ JACKALS DAY-TIME (11AM) BASEBALL GAME, Little Falls, NJ – Wednesday, July 19, 9:30am – 4pm (rain date Wed. Aug. 2). Followed by visit to Yogi Berra Museum. Boxed lunch included. Price: $20 (includes game & museum tickets, boxed lunch). Senior Center will pay for bus. Must sign up by Wed. July 5. Payment required at time of sign up.
