Kean University Professor, Chatham Woman Wins National Award

Mariann Moran recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Mariann Moran, OTD, OTR, CHT of Chatham NJ is the Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Kean University  has been recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). At this year’s annual conference in Nashville, TN, she received the Recognition of Achievement Award for her notable contributions to the profession and its consumers in focused areas of occupational therapy practice including clinical, teaching, scholarship, and administration.  Dr. Moran has served in leadership positions in both the American Occupational Therapy Association and the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association, and has also represented the professional of occupational therapy in; the state licensure committee, with state and national legislators, and with a variety of insurance companies.

Dr. Moran was recently elected to represent New Jersey in the American Occupational Therapy Association Representative Assembly (RA).  As a member of the RA, she will help guide the national association in creating standards and policies affecting the direction of the occupational therapy profession while presenting more than 5,000 occupational therapy professionals in the state.  The Representative’s focus is on making decisions for the good of the profession and the Associati
