The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township welcomes all children ages 3-12 to attend Vacation Bible School this summer. The week-long camp, Great Big Beautiful World, will be held Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9 am to 12 noon at the church. Registration is now open and is expected to fill up fast.

The five-day, morning program invites children to see God’s deep love for all creation, including each child, and encourages them to help protect the created world. Trained, caring adults and youth assistants lead this dynamic and fun week, which features age-appropriate and hands-on activities in a variety of learning styles. Each day includes segments on Bible stories, community service, music and art. The program provides the opportunity for children to learn, make new friends and build social skills.

A special event this year is a visit from The Wetlands Institute. Founded 50 years ago and based in Stone Harbor, NJ, this non-profit organization studies, preserves and protects wetlands and coastal ecosystems. Through its fun and interactive educational program, children will use all of their senses and their imaginations to discover the wet world of water animals. Educators will explain habitats, food chains and anatomy, and offer hands-on time with sea stars, sea urchins, sea snails and a variety of coastal crabs.
