4 Kids Left In Hot Car While Moms Shoplifted: East Hanover Police
The children, ages 7, 6, 5, and 11 months, sat in the car for an hour-and-a-half as the heat index climbed into the triple digits.

EAST HANOVER, NJ — As the heat index climbed into triple digits on Saturday, four children were left sitting in a hot car while two mothers attempted to shoplift, East Hanover Police said.
Arlena T. Keye, 27, of Easton, Pa. and Shaday H. Williams, 27, of Newark left their children in a car parked in a Marshall's parking lot on Saturday and headed into the store to allegedly shoplift, police told Patch. Keye is the mother of three of the children, while Williams is the mother of one, the Daily Record reported.
The car was turned off, and the windows were slightly cracked, police said, with temperatures outside around 90 degrees. The children, ages 7, 6, 5, and 11 months, sat in the car for an hour and a half, police said.

All the children were in good health when police found them, and were released to another family member. Division of Child Protection and Permanency is investigating, police said.
Keye and Shaday were both charged with shoplifting and cruelty and neglect of children, police said. Both were taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility, the Daily Record reported.
