SPOTLIGHT ON: Friends of the Library Book Collection
Friends of the Library book collection is in full swing. Friends are working hard, hauling and sorting tons of books for the upcoming Annual Book Sale, which starts on March 10. Donations of gently used books, CDs and DVDs are accepted through February 23. There is nothing like the Book Sale – you have to see it to believe it! Thousands of books will be sold at bargain-basement prices. It’s a win-win for all – those of you who have books you no longer need, and for those who want books for yourselves or your kid. Storytime is an 8-week, progressive program for preschoolers and their caregivers. Registration required.
24 months and younger – 9:45 a.m.
4 to 6 years – 10:15 am
2 to 3 years – 11 am
Ⓒ Chess for Kids
Mondays, January 15 through February 19
Registration required
Group 1: Players with little or no experience with chess
4 – 4:45 p.m. Suggested ages 6 to 8 Limit: 12 children
Group 2: Players who can finish a game with checkmate
5 – 5:45 p.m. Suggested ages 8 & Up Limit: 16 children
Chess Expert Sean Finn is leading this series of Chess for Kids.
Ⓐ Taxation University Workshop – 4:30 p.m.
Online Businesses & New Jersey Tax
Provided by the NJ State Library and Taxation University, the training and outreach unit of the NJ Division of Taxation, this workshop will teach topics such as the taxability of products and services; sales inside and outside of the state; the basics of shipping products; and the collecting and reporting of NJ Sales Tax. Registration is limited to 30 people.

Are you a bit rusty with your Italian language skills? Native speakers Luciana Santoriello and Carmen Del Guercio-Evans will moderate this Italian discussion group and help to get a conversation going.

Registration opens two weeks prior to each class
Angie Oberhelman, LPC and owner of Stress and Emotional Wellness Counseling, will offer yoga classes for teenagers. She incorporates yoga in her therapy with teens and adults. Ms. Oberhelman will guide you through poses (asana), breathing (pranayama) and meditation (focusing) to help you feel calm and energized. Mats, blocks and straps will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing so you can move easily in the poses. Put your troubles aside, relieve some stress, build self-esteem and have fun!
Ⓐ Dealing with Chronic Pain – 7 pm
Chronic pain affects millions of Americans making daily activities difficult. In this presentation, licensed physical therapist Lisa Weinman, Director of Rehabilitation at Summit Center for Physical Therapy, will give an overview of some of the main contributors to chronic pain. A discussion will follow offering strategies for addressing and alleviating chronic pain, and where possible, target the root causes of back, neck and joint issues. Pre-registration is requested.
