MLK Food Drive and Prayer Service

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee of Chatham Borough invites the entire community and friends from neighboring towns to honor the spirit and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This special day is dedicated to service and unity, reflecting Dr. King’s enduring message of peace, equality, and kindness.

The event will take place at the Chatham United Methodist Church, located at 460 Main Street, Chatham Borough. The day will begin with a food drive from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, offering a convenient drive-through drop-off for donations.

Following the food drive, a prayer service will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM to reflect on Dr. King’s contributions and to foster a spirit of community and togetherness.

Requested Donations Include: • Canned vegetables and fruits • Canned meats like tuna and chicken • Soups and stews • Pasta and rice • Pasta sauce • Peanut butter and beans (canned or dry) • Cereal and oatmeal • Healthy snacks such as granola bars • Shelf-stable milk

This event is a wonderful opportunity for Chatham and its neighboring communities to come together to make a significant impact. By participating in the food drive, attendees can help provide essential food items to those in need, embodying the ideals of service and community support that Dr. King championed.
