The softball team was shut out by Morristown 1-0 on Saturday as it played its third game in three days.
"We didn't hit well today," said Head Coach Alexis Davies. "We waited until the sixth inning to get a hit, and you're living dangerously when you do that."
The game was the Cougars fifth of the week, and it was the team's third day in a row with a game.

"I felt like we should have hit that pitcher a lot harder than we did, but I give her credit for a good game," Davies said.
Morristown pitcher Julia Cox perplexed Chatham hitters all game long, getting to the top of the sixth inning with a perfect game before Kelsey Davies singled. Cox finished with a complete game shutout and allowed just three hits.

"My screwball and my changeup kept them off-balance," said Cox.
The game's sole run came in the bottom of the third inning. After Chatham pitcher Amanda Fazio got two outs, Morristown's Tara Lopez delivered the game's decisive blow with a runner on first. She drove one of Fazio's elusive fastballs to the right field gap to drive in teammate Joanna Lee from first base.
Fazio, however, was up to the task during her third day pitching in a row as she worked the strike zone on Morristown hitters and pitched to contact, much like Cox. She finished the game by striking out three batters and surrendered one run on four hits.
"I was throwing it a little higher than I would have liked to," said Fazio. "We usually try and keep it low, but it was running in the middle of the plate—that's when I ran into trouble."
Coach Davies said there was a reason for Morristown's run.
"I think cause of the wind, a couple of her locations were off, and that's when they hit the ball," she said.
She continued: "Some days, you're just flat, and it's hard to pick somebody out and pick a pinch hitter for them because they've all come through at times this week. It's just one of those games."
The Cougars move on to play St. Elizabeth's High School on Monday for the team's Senior Day.
