New Picture Book Celebrates Chatham

"This book is really an homage to Chatham," author Becky Gibby said.

CHATHAM, NJ — An upcoming picture book will celebrate life in Chatham, and feature sights familiar to Chatham school children. "I Walked My Dog Around The Pond," by local author Becky Gibby, will be released on June 10 at the Fishawack Festival.

“I’m thrilled to introduce my book at the Fishawack Festival because it’s actually a book about Chatham, my home of over 47 years,” said Gibby. “The book is about Kelley’s Pond, behind Milton Avenue School. I raised my family a few blocks from there and I now walk by the pond every day with my dog KC. This book is really an homage to Chatham.”

Written in rhyme, the book "vividly depicts each month of the year and corresponding animals, birds and fish seen at the pond." It teaches numbers, seasons and animals.
