Pastor Michel Valentin Of Haiti To Speak At Chatham Church
National Director of Foundation for Peace Shares Current Ministry and Political Situation in Haiti on the 10th Anniversary of the Earthquake

The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township (PCCT) is pleased to welcome Pastor Michel Valentin as guest preacher on Sunday, January 12 at the 10:00 am worship service and as speaker during the Faith Forward program following worship. It is coincidentally the date of the 10th anniversary of the devastating earthquake that shook and destroyed much of the country. All are welcome to attend.
Pastor Valentin is the National Director of Foundation for Peace (FFP) in Haiti, PCCT’s partner for its annual Mission Trip since 2012. A highlight of the Mission Trip each year was to attend Pastor Valentin’s church. This year, due to political unrest and anti-government protests currently occurring the in country, the PCCT Mission Team will not be able to travel to Haiti, but instead will bring a little Haiti to the congregation in the form of Pastor Valentin.
In addition to serving as the National Director of FFP in Haiti, Pastor Valentin is a Haitian attorney and Pastor of the Eglise Sanctuaire de la Grace de Croix-Coq, which he and his wife Nadege started in 2011. Valentin, as most people call him, is fluent in Creole, French, Spanish, and English and is passionate about improving his country in physical, educational, spiritual, and economic aspects.

Valentin first encountered FFP after the 2010 earthquake, when he brought his injured daughter, Manite, to the field hospital in Jimani, DR. Having been blessed with incredible intelligence, compassion, education, and faith, he quickly became a valued resource at the hospital where he used his language skills to translate for patients and doctors. His tireless efforts helped deliver critical care to hundreds of patients. In his “spare” time, he led spontaneous worship for the hospital’s patients.
In 2010 Valentin officially joined the FFP team. He oversees all of FFP’s work in Haiti, especially the Complexe Educatif Men Nan Men project in Ganthier. In all he does, Valentin freely shares his passionate faith, compassionate spirit, and endless enthusiasm with all who meet him.

While the PCCT Mission Team will not be able to travel to Haiti this year, the congregation is raising funds for the Centre d’Action pour le Development (CAD) Orphanage in Haiti. Some of PCCT’s impactful work in Haiti has been with an orphanage that was started by a woman who recently passed away, and left the group without the funding it depends on to survive. Today there are 32 children in the orphanage who have no other options for care. The orphanage depends on FFP for everything: food, clothes, education, healthcare, electric bill, transportation, staff salaries, and more. It currently takes $3,000 per month to fund all costs of the orphanage, or approximately $100 per child. Donations are currently being accepted to help FFP provide the basic needs of the orphans, and can be made directly by visiting https://www.foundationforpeace... and selecting Haiti Partner: Centre d’Action pour le Development (CAD) Orphanage.
