Presbyterian Church Raises Funds for Youth Mission Trip

The annual Youth Mission Trip Fundraising Dinner, hosted by the Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township (PCCT) on May 4, was a resounding success, raising $8,500. The event provided attendees with a delicious North Carolina Barbecue and a silent auction featuring over 40 generously donated baskets.

Proceeds help fund the youth mission trip to New Bern, North Carolina, for more than 30 high school students and adult chaperones. Participants will assist with home repairs through the Craven County Disaster Recovery Alliance. New Bern is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Florence in 2018, which caused over $100 million in damage and affected thousands of homes.

The Rev. Thomas A. Brown, Pastor of PCCT, said, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming support we've received from the community for this trip and are deeply grateful for the volunteers who make the fundraiser such a success.”

PCCT has been offering youth mission trips for more than 20 years. This year’s trip is scheduled to take place from June 15th to June 21st.
