The conversation will offer new ways of thinking about Mantel’s remarkable portrayal of power, politics, ambition and human nature as we will hear the respected literary scholar and editor discuss what makes it so compelling.

What Can David Lynn Teach Us About Wolf Hall?

The genre of historical fiction helps us understand living experiences of the past beyond what we may have learned in history classes. Mantel transformed the well-known story of Thomas Cromwell and the court of Henry VIII into an intimate, immersive portrait of ambition, influence and political survival. Wolf Hall won the Booker Prize and became the first volume in Mantel’s acclaimed trilogy.
