General Election Showdown Set In Chatham (UPDATED)
Current Chatham Township Mayor Tayfun Selen lost his bid for another round on the dais as Rez Estevez, Mark F. Hamilton earned the GOP nod.
CHATHAM, NJ - Incumbent Mayor Tayfun Selen lost the GOP nomination to Rez Estevez and Mark F. Hamilton in Tuesday's primary.
Selen earned 27 percent of the vote with 494 while Hamilton notched 677 to garner 37.84 percent of the votes and Estevez earned 611 votes which equates to 34.15 percent of the votes.
Democrat Stacey Ewald had an easier time of it, as she is the only petitioner who filed for the Democrats by the deadline and secured her party's nomination with 426 votes which equates to 79.18 percent of the votes.

After the results were in, Hamilton and Estevez released a statement thanking Chatham Township.
" The results are in and we are humbled and honored by the turnout of Township Republicans in today's primary and the resounding victory for us that they delivered," they said through their Facebook page. "Now we cannot wait to start working hard for all of Chatham. Thank you again for all of your support."

Over in Chatham Borough, Republican candidate for mayor Robert A. Weber earned his party's nomination with 274 or 99.64 percent of the votes. He will face Democrat Thaddeus Kobylarz who earned his party's nomination with 327 or 99.70 percent of the votes.
The council race is set for November as Republican James J. Collander earned his party's nomination with 277 or 50.27 percent of the votes alongside Stacey McEvoy who earned her party's nomination with 273 or 49.55 percent of the votes.
They will face Democrat Irene Treloar who earned her party's nomination with 322 or 49.54 percent of the vote and Democrat Karen Koronkiewicz who earned her party's nomination with 325 or 50 percent of the vote.
All results are unofficial until certified by the County clerk.
