Remembering 9/11 Victims From Chatham At Annual Community Ceremony

The ceremony is dedicated to all those who died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center 21 years ago.

CHATHAM, NJ —Residents of Chatham are invited to a remembrance ceremony to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The 2022 Chatham 9-11 remembrance ceremony will take place on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the 9-11 Memorial located at Memorial Park on North Passaic Avenue, behind the library.

The memorial, which consists of a plaque and a tree planted in 2002, honors those who boarded the train to work on that morning and never returned to Chatham.

The ceremony honors all those who died in the World Trade Center terrorist attack, including 13 Chatham Borough and Chatham Township residents. "There will not be any seating provided, so please bring your own," said Daniel J. Smith Jr., President of the Chatham 9-11 Memorial Foundation, Inc.

The ceremony will take place rain or shine, according to officials.
