Chatham Students Bring the Noise - and Collect the Canned Goods - for Community Food Bank of New Jersey

Students from School of Rock Chatham’s Street Team performed as special guests at the Summit Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 25. The Parade was presented by the Summit Police Athletic League and Summit Community Programs.
“Along with being awesome musicians, our students are also good citizens,” says Jamie Lima, General Manager of School of Rock Chatham. “They love using their talents to benefit local causes and our neighbors in need, so the opportunity to perform at the Summit Halloween Parade and also help the Community Food Bank of New Jersey was win-win for all involved.”
The Parade was presented by the Summit Police Athletic League and Summit Community Programs. The students’ performed a one-hour set of such Halloween-themed favorites as “Zombie” by The Cranberries, “Spooky” by Classics IV, “Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett, “Season of the Witch” by Donovan, and “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon, as well as “Supernaut” by Black Sabbath, “Come Together” and “Oh! Darling” by The Beatles, “Barracuda” by Heart, “Fire” by Jimi Hendrix, and the Amy Winehouse version of “Valerie”.

“The performance by School of Rock Chatham’s Street Team made our Halloween parade an enormous success and a true community event,” says Guy Haselmann, member of the PAL advisory board. “Their show definitely helped to keep families mingling and hanging out after the parade was over, and the Summit area community owes these talented musicians a big thank you for their participation.”
School of Rock Chatham will be accepting donations of canned goods for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey through Thursday, October 30. Donations can be dropped off at the School’s location on 60 Main Street in Chatham until 8:00PM on 10/30. For more info, contact School of Rock Chatham at 973-635-2100.
