Slow Down: Back To School Calls For Increased Awareness In Chatham
Chatham Borough police advise drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution as more children begin walking and biking to school.
CHATHAM, NJ — The start of the new school year in the School District of the Chathams has prompted police to urge motorists to exercise caution because more kids will be walking and bicycling to school.
The return of the school year brings more activity and traffic in and near school zones, especially around the morning and afternoon bell times.
"We want the school children to be reminded that the school guards are there to assist with crossing various intersections and to be utilized within their scheduled times before and after school," police said.
