St. Patrick Hosts Grandparents And Special Friends In Chatham

ST. PATRICK SCHOOL OPENS ITS DOORS TO MORE THAN 180 GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS
ANNUAL ‘GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS’ DAY HELD ON OCTOBER 4, 2019
CHATHAM, NJ – It was all smiles and laughter on Friday, October 4 at Grandparents & Special Friends Day at St. Patrick School (SPS), a National Blue Ribbon School and an AdvancED STEM Certified School, located in Chatham. More than 180 grandparents and special friends enjoyed a special morning Mass dedicated to them and also had the opportunity to visit the SPS classrooms to experience a day in the life of their student(s) and to learn more about St. Patrick School.

“My grandparents had so much fun visiting me and my sister at St. Patrick School. They especially enjoyed being a part of a special STEM project that we worked on together,” said Gracie Vowells who lives in Chatham.
“We were delighted that so many grandparents and special friends took the time to visit St. Patrick School,” said Dr. Christine Ross, Principal at SPS. “Our students certainly benefit from having their grandparents involved and interested in their education.”

Grandparents & Special Friends Day is an annual event at St. Patrick School. It brings together SPS students with their grandparents or special friends – such as aunts, uncles, or neighbors – who want to share in the educational experience of their SPS student and create new memories that will last a lifetime. Ross explains, “Grandparents play an important role in the lives of every child. The encouragement that children receive from their grandparents, close relatives or special friends leaves a lasting impression on their lives.”
